Sharu special alloys supplies the forged bars, step shafts, rings, eccentric shafts etc for a multitude of applications in various grades like carbon steel, alloy steel(creep steel, case carburising, nitriding steel etc.), stainless steel and tool & die steel. The bars are straightened to remove any twist and give superior yields in the end product
Manufacturing Process for Forged Bars and rings
The square/flat bars are made from ingots and are processed after giving required reduction ratio and discarding hot top and bottom for homogeneity. They are either processed by hot rolling or hot forging. These bars are further heat treated as per customer requirements by any one of the following processes
 Annealing
 Normalizing
 Stress Relieving
 Quenching and Tempering
 Spheroidizing Annealing
 They are also offered in bright condition by
 Proof machined upto Dia 100mmx6000mm length to Dia 700mm and 5000mm length
 Finish CNC machining as per drawing of upto 4000kg single piece
 They are also offered in
 Cut to length
 Multiple lengths
 Centres on both size
 Quality Check of Forged Bars and rings
 Following checks are conducted in bars/rings/step shafts and reported in the TEST CERTIFICATE as per customer requirement
 Surface inspection (Magnetic Particle Inspection) is carried out of each bar end to end
 Positive Material Identification using XRF to certify in process chemistry of each bar
 100% dimensional verification using calibrated verniers and Go No-Go gauges
 Step down testing
 Upset forging test
 NMIR (Non metallic inclusion rating)
 Macrostructure testing
 Microstructure phase analysis
 Grain Size
 Ultrasonic Testing for internal defects
 Radioactivity test
 Gas analysis (O, N, H).
